We are looking for volunteers to support this year’s Bologna Peacebuilding Forum.
This volunteer program offers a valuable opportunity to gain professional experience while connecting with and learning from leading experts and practitioners in the peacebuilding field
Roles and Responsibilities
Volunteers may be asked to support one or more of the following tasks:
- Registration and Front Desk Support:
Welcoming participants and speakers, registering attendees, distributing badges and conference materials, managing arrivals during peak times, and responding to general inquiries. - Speaker and Panellist Support:
Assisting speakers and panelists throughout the forum, welcoming them upon arrival, and providing logistical and on-site support as needed. - IT and Technical Assistance:
Supporting the setup of technical equipment prior to the event, troubleshooting technical issues during sessions, assisting speakers with presentations and microphones, and managing microphones during Q&A sessions. - Communication Support:
Taking detailed notes during presentations and panel discussions to support the communications team’s content development, including identifying key insights, quotes, and highlights for sharing across social media and other communication channels. - Event Setup:
Assisting with venue setup before the event and packing away materials at the conclusion of the forum - General Event Support:
Providing guidance to attendees and speakers and assisting with ad hoc tasks as they arise throughout the conference.Applicants are encouraged to indicate their preferred tasks in the application form.
Availability
Volunteer Days:
- Wednesday 6th May
- Thursday 7th May 2026
- Friday 8th May 2026
Preference will be given to applicants who can commit to all full days; however, applications for individual days will also be considered.
Please note that the number of volunteer positions is limited, as we aim to ensure a meaningful and well-structured experience for all selected participants.
We warmly encourage everyone to take part in the Forum in other ways, as the event remains open and welcoming to a broader audience.
Mandatory Event Preparation Meetings
Selected volunteers are required to attend two mandatory preparation meetings:
- 16th April 2026, in person
- 29 april 2026, in person/hybrid
These sessions will cover:

- The conference programme and running order
- Allocation of volunteer roles and responsibilities
- Venue details and logistical arrangements
- An opportunity to meet fellow volunteers and the Bologna Peacebuilding Forum organising team
Next Generation Forum
RESERVED EVENT
As part of the programme, volunteers will be invited to join a dedicated learning experience for university students on the third day of the conference (8 May). This session provides targeted training on innovative approaches to peacebuilding and complements the overall volunteer journey.
